Just a heads up to any of my visitors who might be translating my pages, and there are quite a few of you out there!
A couple weeks ago, I had a case of the stupids and accidentally deleted my cached translated pages. Google didn’t like it very much and broke a couple hundred links to my site. For the most part, they should be working again. The Global Translator is working day and night to translate the remaining pages of my site and is about to pass 3,000 pages. But I think it’s going to be a couple more weeks before that even gets caught up as it needs to translate for 41 different languages.
I even had to slow the automated translation process due to it hammering Google too hard, resulting in the translation requests to fail. At this point, every 1,500 seconds it will translate a couple new pages and go back to sleep until another 1,500 seconds has passed.
I’ve noticed as well that the image rotator doesn’t work so hot on the translated pages. However the guides seem to be good to go visually. If you do use the translated pages and notice any bad translations, Google seems to have an option in there where you can opt in and offer a corrected translation. I of course cannot verify this as I only speak English, but just know that it is there and available.
Anyways, that is all for now. Feel free to let me know if you have any trouble with them and I’ll do my best to help you out.
