Geek caves are not the place to be subtle. This DIY project turns blank printed circuit boards into geometric lamp shades for not-so-subtle lighting.

IKEAHacker reader Sara Reller shares a simple decorating hack for the geek-inclined: using blank printed circuit boards as a lamp shade.

She bought some blank boards off eBay, connected them at the corners with wire, and then hooked them up to a simple light socket assembly. For the small amount of work she invested in the project (if you’ve never wired a lamp before, don’t worry it’s super easy) she ended up with some pretty sweet looking lights.
