Googlebot seemed to like (or dislike) the translation tool so much it jammed the entire thing up.  The crawlers that are sifting through the site  all day long were hammering all the new untranslated content so much that Google’s Translation server’s pretty much banned my server’s IP.

Over time it filled the translation cache up with junk redirects hammering the translation servers even more.

So for now I’ve taken the translation links down to alleviate my Google webmaster tools before it got me in real trouble. So if you are coming here and get a 404 or 410 error, that page is gone.  But the original in english still exists, but you’ll have to copy and paste the link into your preferred translation engine on your own.

In a couple weeks when I see things clear up in my logs I’m going to put the auto translate feature back into play.  I’ve actually got a better system for it.  I’ll be blocking them from the search engines with nofollows and robots.txt.  Plus, I’ll have the translations running on a round robin so it doesn’t get all screwed up again.

Any URL’s with a two letter subdirectory are currently invalid.
